Welcome to the sandbox, a place where you can play around and try out the Java Wiki Integrated Development Environment. No account is needed - just make a new page or edit an existing one. Don't get too attached to any of your creations here because anything posted here can be changed by anyone.

Make Your Program

Change the text below then get started making your own program on JavaWIDE.

Instructions

In the field on the left, change your_name to be your own name.
Change YourProgram to be the name of the program you want to create.
For example, if your name were Jill and you wanted to make a program called HelloWorld, you would put jill/HelloWorld in the field.
The button Click Here to Create the Program will take you to a new page where you will receive further instructions to help you get started making your program.

Once you get a little more familiar with JavaWIDE, you'll want to use the full screen IDE and the code explorer to find and share code:

Write Your Own Script

It's possible to write code directly to the console. You can also interact with the GridWorld packages using the command line. Click here to try it out.

Where JavaWIDE is Used

JavaWIDE is being used across the United States and around the world. The map to the right shows all of the sites that have been set up for teachers and students.
